Brecht Bovijn

Brecht Bovijn, born 1991 in Belgium, began his dance journey after studying Human Sciences. After starting at the Artesis Royal Conservatory in Antwerp, he completed his bachelor’s degree at Codarts in Rotterdam. Since 2014, he has worked in Germany and Switzerland with companies and choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Roy Assaf, Jan Martens, Marcos Morau, Jo Strømgren, Maura Morales, KOR’SIA, Nacho Duato, Club Guy & Roni, and Liliana Barros.

Brecht has also explored choreography, taught dance in Switzerland, and developed an interest in photography and film. His photos were published in Ballet, Why and How? in 2014, and his short films Ça Plane Pour Moi and Bronte were shown at Tipperary Dance Festival and Rollout Dance Film Festival.

Additionally, he has designed promotional and product materials, including tote bags for RETRO CAT by Tori Wrånes and merchandise for Ravnedans 2024, a contemporary dance festival in Kristiansand. Brecht has danced with Carte Blanche since August 2022.
