A jam is a dynamic, open way to dance contact improvisation. Sometimes it’s filled with music; other times the dancing happens in focus and quiet. What characterises a jam is freedom. You can start or end a dance at any time—or choose to participate as an observer.

You may dance with someone else, on your own, or with several people. You can also end or decline a dance at any time without explanation. Throwing yourself into the unknown invites the unexpected and exciting, while also carrying the risk of disappointment. The jam becomes whatever we create together in the moment—the unpredictable.

We aim to provide a safe, open space for newcomers while also being a steady meeting place for experienced dancers.
