Welcome to Contact Improvisation Jam every Tuesday at Studio Bergen from 18:00 to 20:00 this autumn!

A jam is a dynamic and open form of dancing contact improvisation. Sometimes the jam is accompanied by music, and other times the dance happens in concentration and silence. The essence of the jam is freedom. You can start or stop dancing at any time, or choose to participate as an observer.

You can start a dance with someone else, dance alone, or with several people at any time. And you can end or decline a dance at any time without explanation. Jumping into something unknown opens up the possibility for the unexpected and exciting, while also carrying the risk of disappointment or mishap. The jam becomes whatever we create together in the moment—the unpredictable.

We aim to provide a safe and open space for beginners, while also being a stable meeting place for experienced dancers.
