About Mia Habib
During 2027, Mia Habib will take over as Artistic Director of Carte Blanche. As Norway’s only national contemporary dance company, Habib sees Carte Blanche as uniquely positioned to give space to both new and older voices. She wants the company to continue to be a place where artists can grow, challenge themselves and find new directions.
For Habib, contemporary dance can create reflection, raise critical questions and provide an arena for different encounters. In this way, she sees it as an important part of building democracy.
She looks forward to developing this work together with the company and its audiences at the new Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus in Bergen, and internationally.
