The Norwegian national company for contemporary dance, Carte Blanche, is looking for dancers with a high level of contemporary dance techniques and performance skills for positions starting in August 2025.

We are looking for dancers with a strong practice in contemporary dance and improvisation, as well as an interest in multi-disciplinary and collaborative approaches to working. We appreciate individuality, strong performance skills, and artistic integrity, while also valuing those who thrive in a collective setting and are highly aware of group dynamics. Additionally, be prepared for voice as an element of the artistic work —while advanced singing skills are not required, openness and readiness are essential. 
We value diversity in terms of artistic interest, social and cultural background, gender expression, and dis/abilities.
The working language is English.

We are looking for:
with a minimum of 3 years professional experience in creative and dynamic processes, post-education. 

Two Apprentices (Born in 2001 or later) with relevant experience in creative and dynamic processes within contemporary dance. 

Apprentice contracts are one-year paid contracts for dancers born in 2001 or later, and this is a criteria for being considered for this position.

About Carte Blanche
Carte Blanche was established in 1989 in Bergen, a city on the west coast of Norway.
From its home base, Studio Bergen, the Company tours Norway and abroad. The ensemble consists of 14 dancers from all over the world. Each season, we produce one to two new creations in collaboration with new talents and known choreographers.
Carte Blanche has worked with choreographers and artists such as Francois Chaignaud, Frédérick Gravel, Lia Rodrigues, and Pedro Gómez-Egaña.
The Company is currently touring with performances by choreographers Eszter Salamon, Lander Patrick, Elle Sofe Sara and Joar Nango, and its newest production by Tori Wrånes. In 2025, the Company will produce two new performances, one in collaboration with Greek choreographer and musician Katerina Andreou and one with Belgian choreographer Jan Martens.

Carte Blanche holds auditions once a year. The audition dates are available on this page, and participation is by invitation only through our application process. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer private auditions outside the specified dates.
